Dead Battery - dead auto door locks?

Ever since obtaining my 9-3 a few months ago, my 900S was sitting in my mechanics' shop (rebuilding the 2nd transmission at 241,156 miles)then sitting in my driveway & when I went to start it up today, the battery was dead. I noticed when I turned the key in my drivers side door, the auto locks didn't work. Is this because of the dead battery? The 900S is currently on the battery charger for the night. The battery is less than a year old, so after a good long healthy charge, it should be fine, right?
