91' 900s oil pressure problems

I'm having a bad day. I just got the engine back together in my brother's 900s. He blew a rod on the way to work a month ago. I bought another 900 with a bad body and trans to pull the engine out. I replaced all the timing parts and the gaskets and put everything back together and now I have no oil pressure. I can guess the problem is the pick up tube. I'm tired of working on this car. Does anyone have any idea how to get to the pickup tube (oil pump cover) without having to pull the engine. If I have to pull the engine I may just have to sell the car and try to make up for the losses.
Thanks
Chris
