Doubtful. I just fixed a broken header stud near the firewall on my '94T-conv. The disruption of airflow caused a really nasty sounding valve tap until the header warmed and expanded enough to seal up the leak. Fixing it looked like a real pain....that's why I took it to my trusted indy mechanic to have it done. My luck I would have snapped a couple more gettng the header off.
Anyway, have you checked your TPS switch? I had a bad idle on my '90 for a while last summer...would hunt and sometimes stall. I checked it per the bentley instructions and it was OK. I checked every other component also as you have(AIC, AMM) I cleaned all the connectors and for good measure shot some contact cleaner in between the TPS and the throttle body. Well, car ran like crap for a few miles then tightened up and has been fine since. Can't explain it but that worked...so check your TPS.
