I think that I have solved my occasional gas smell. I pulled the hatch floor panel last wednesday to install a bracket to hold a small subwoofer a friend gave me. When I pulled the section above the tank, I discovered that the round cover that goes over the pump was not installed properly, it was just sitting there loose. After a bit of persuasion, I was able to get it sealed in there. Haven't noticed any smells since then and I filled the tank yesterday. We'll see if that was it (would be nice!)
