Hey all. Been having trouble with my sister's 89 900s auto. Replaced the radiator over thanksgiving break with my dad. The fans were not turing on until we replaced the relay. Prior to this the coolant had mysteriously dissapeard but there was residue on the wheel well below the expansion tank. The car did overheat on one of these occasions i do not know to what extent as i was not there. Now the temp control works fine with the fans kicking in and keeping the gauge at or below half. But, there are bubbles from time to time in the coolant expansion tank. Pressure test revealed loose hoses, which were tightened and it still bubbles. We bled the system multiple times when we repalaced the thermostat, again on thanksgiving break. It hasnt overheated since but the bubbles are worrying me. There was white smoke but i think it was becuase of the cold air and cold engine beucase after a few minutes the amount lessend and after a ride there was barely any. Is this the headgasket? Any other ideas?
TIA
Nick
