Had a situation on my 1992 900 non turbo where the engine would run perfect then for some reason just quit and then always restart and run normal. As it turned out there was corrosion on the connection to the throttle switch. after pulling the connector and cleaning with electrical contact cleaner it has run perfect since. This appears to be a problem since moisture(good engine wash) can collect in the plug receptical and cause corrosion especially if the connector boot has degraded as mine has. A good cheap place to start. FWIW most of my problems on this particular car has been related to poor grounds or connections. good luck jk
