in it now. and yes, it's cold - maybe 28.

the tranny that was replaced certainly had difficulty with the early morning 1st to second. on the rebuild, even when warmed up, it only feels like it's possible to make the shift about half the time (the other times you finally have to give up for fear of bending something). 3rd to 2nd is entirely impossible no matter how warm the engine is- again, if I can't get that shift ever, not sure how that syncro could break in.

the notion that the shift linkage may not be properly aligned sounds like a possibility. not sure he'd have the special saab tool referenced, as he's a Mercedes/BMW/Ferrari shop. I assume such is needed?
