As C900's are 11-25 years old this applies to us.
According to Steven Kurutz people driving older cars are;
We are the butt of jokes and ridicule... "Not to be forgotten are the social indignities: ribbing from friends, pleas from embarrassed relatives. "People are always asking me, `When is your father going to get rid of that car?' " said Karen Hewitt"
Steven goes on to say that we are "delusional" for thinking that driving an older car is cheaper than a new car payment. Really.
Steven finishes the piece in what must be puppy like confusion over how we old car drivers can, "resist the lure of splashy car advertisements, as well as a certain indifference to advancements in design and even a disregard for safety improvements like antilock brakes and traction control. "
I'd say I was stuned by the low quality of writing but then I realised it is "the" Times.
