If your paying top $$$ then expect the best. The condition of the top is obvious the rest is like any other Saab. These cars are well put together and with some care they will last for a long time. I have a 1987 900-T Convert and the top is still like near new, the body is rust free, the interior imaculate. Now for the BAD - the mechanical parts are not cheap and expect the worse if you don't service at a Saab specialist shop. I have owned this car since near new and I am not easy on the drive train, so far I had the trans rebuild, all brake parts replaced from master cylinder etc. Complete clutch including bearings etc. echaust system, AC compressor, timing chain tensioner, water pump, alternator, cooling hoses, heater core valve, ball joints, tie rods, manifold studs ( very expensive -the engine had to be removed)and probably other items I forgot about. AND NOW again my trans is making pinion bearings again.
