I took the advice of several of you and used an air operated cutting tool to cut my front shocks in half. The bottom came right out. The top is stuck in place. I have been at it for several hours and I can't get it out. I thought I could just hammer it 'up' and it would come right out.
I am trying everything I can think of but am stuck with my car up on jacks and the top half of a shock stuck there. I used a grinder to grind a flat spot on what's left of the shaft, but when I put a vice grip on it and turn the top shock nut the vice just falls off. Even with the flat spot it won't stay on. I am in serious trouble because my other car is in the shop for body work following an accident....any suggestions??? Help!!!
