1)Rust. Front lower right A-arm area is infamous for rusting out. Other areas to check carefully are: Door bottoms, rear wheel wells, trunk bottom, and if the car does have any interior leaks, check the floor. This all depends on what part of the country you are buying from though.
2)Fuel pump giving out soon
3)Transmission giving out (or "in" depending on if the car has been modified to produce more boost pressure)
4)A/C inop
I think the other guys hit the other spots.
That said, if you do find a well cared for, clean car, they are a joy to own and drive. I love them. A well documented, cared for 900 will easily go a ton of miles past the 100K miles mark. You have to be willing to do as much maintenance as you are capable of yourself to save some $$. Find a good mechanic that knows SAAB's to do the stuff you can't.
