people tend to lie about such things--asking is usually a waste of time. Rather than play "ring around the rosey" it's usually best to check this stuff yourself. It's well worth having a mechanic who is familiar with Saabs check the car out. Don't get all hung up with finding a car that's perfect, some of the best buys are on cars that need work. Just make sure the price reflects it. I recently bought a '93 Turbo convertible that needed to have the hood painted, a new window regulator, front mainseal, and a few other odds and ends. But I bought it for $1,500 UNDER wholesale because the owner didn't want to pay the big bucks the dealer was asking to fix everything. I did some of the work myself and ended up fixing everything for $600. The real key is knowing everything it needs and using it to get a good price--pay a professional mechanic to check it and then give quotes on the repairs.
