Help!!!
I drove my wife’s car for a week while she was gone, and left my 87 900T sitting in the garage. This morning when I started it, it let out the worst rod knock (I could feel it in my back) along with a huge plume of blue smoke. This all stopped quickly (5 seconds or so). The turbo is “new” with only about 15K+/- on it. The bottom end had been gone thru (is now off of warranty from mech – of course), but is this what’s to come soon every morning or just a freaky thing? The car boosted great after, smoked nothing, and didn’t knock at all (boosted barely into the red as usual). Could this be a starved turbo bearing or failing oil pump? My lifters click when the oil gets to operating temp on hot days as well, but this was not a “dainty” dry lifters = cam slap noise, it sounded like a Cummins diesel in my garage!
Any help / suggestions would be great!
Thanks in advance
Jeff
