If you're running rich, you'll want to change that before you go in. I "fixed" a nox problem this way--thanks to an emmissions person's help. Immediately before the test, I ran the car on the highway at 65 for fifteen minutes, went straight to emmissions center and right before I pulled in, I revved the engine at 5000 rpm for about 30 seconds. I think that pretty much blows a bunch of junk out of the cat.

Make sure you're engine is otherwise running at normal temps, tires are inflated, you've got new plugs and wires, etc.. You can also do a pre-test just to be doubly sure. We have those in CA, I don't know where you live.

P.S. Don't bother buying those gas additives.
