Hey everyone! I just had to tell you all about this great product I found at wal-mart today. For a long time now I've been considering dropping big dollars to have my bumpers repainted. But now I don't have to. When I was at wal-mart today looking for something to help lighten up the nice key job someone did on my drivers side. I found this product called Duri-Color Bumper Coating(I don't work for this company don't remove post please). It worked awesome they look brand new I couldn't believe the result here are step by step instructions on how to do it.
Rear Bumper Instructions.
1. Go to wal-mart and buy 2 cans of Duri-Color Bumper Coating
1 Package of plastic sheeting they have a pack that has 3 rolls youll need it. And some painters tape not the one with just .25 inch of adhesive. You will also need a flat head screw driver. And some sand paper. You will also need a razor blade or box cutter.
2.Clean off bumper with water and dry it off. Use tape and cover silver trim or remove it I removed mine because I have all new. Use a sharp blade and cut down the strips and remove remaing tape.
3.Open up your plastic sheeting and cover the rear of the car use your flat head screw driver to tuck plastic in between bumper and metal. On the backsides of the bumper you can easily pull the bumper molding away from the car tuck the plastic sheeting behind this all the way to the wheel well. Tape remaining loose plastic to rear window.
4.Sand the bumper untill any cracked or loose paint is nice and smooth.
5.Shake the can very well and begin spraying from about a 6 inch distance make sure to have an even coating you'll be able to know that you have full coverage because the color of the spray is a darker color than faded bumpers. It drys very quickly in about 10 min or less go over it one more time and your all set to go.
Front Bumper
Follow all the same instructions the front side bumpers pull away just as easily but don't pull to hard or you'll pull it away from front bumper. Make sure to remove your license plate or cover it with tape. only thing with front bumper is make sure you tuck tape under the head lights as there are to lips on the front bumper on the top stick it in top lip and under the grill. Good luck and happy SAABING
