My vacuum lines were all screwed up, so I feel your pain.
Try to maximize your chances of having everything agree with the diagram on the left wheel well.
On my 1988 900 Turbo Convertible, from the point you described, I have the large hose going to brake, one small one to the firewall, and the other small one to the fuel pressure regulator.
Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand the only hoses that go to the throttle body are the distributor and the one from the charcoal canister (from the fuel tank). All the others go to the manifold.
I had the fuel pressure regulator in the wrong place and the car flunked the Illinois emissions test. I haven't taken her back yet -- I want to pre-test myself, but I'm guessing that was the problem.
I'm not sure if the engine compartment photo has be ftp'ed to my web page.
