All depending on how much flickering it is doing I would first of all check the ground nut on the back of gauge.
By removing the left speaker you can access the back of speedo cluster. Right behind temp and fuel guage is a 7mm nut (2 of them) and you need to get a wrench down there and tighten the two nuts slightly.
That usually stabilize the temp and fuel guage and makes the gauges read a little bit higher (proper) than before.
In some bad cases of loose nuts I have seen the gauges flicker about a 1/4 of the range.
The fuel sending unit is no longer available and you can only hope for some old stock at a supplier/dealer/independant shop.
