If it were my car, I'd order a new lobro CV joint. That will set you back about $80 or so. First loosen the axel nut (use 1 1/4 inch socket and long breaker bar) After that you'll need to jam a piece of wood or something under the upper control arm before you jack up the car to remove the axel. Remove the ball joints from the control arms and remove the lower shock bushing. You'll also need to seperate the tierod end from the steering knuckle. This is easy if you have the right puller. If you don't try the ol' two hammer trick. Now the axel is ready to come out. Be careful with the inner tripod. If you bang it into something it can fall apart. Removing the outer CV joint reqires a big pair of snap-ring plyers to push open this clip inside the cvjoint that holds it on the shaft. It can sometimes be hard to do, and occasionally I've had to also bang the old joint off with a hammer. Installation is reverse of removal.
You can save a little time and money if your order the entire axel. Its less money because it is rebuilt, not new. It also saves you time by not having to deal with the joint, and if you mess up the tripod bearing, you have another. That said the rebuilt stuff probably won't last nearly as long as new stuff, and you have to deal with returning the core.
