Your message is better suited to the 'next generation' 900 board.
If you're getting two sets of tires, make one snow-only assuming you are in an area that requires it. That's your decision.
I apologize to BMW owners again, but narrow snow tires are better. Wider tires ride up and over snow and slush, narrow snows dig in like an axe.
Nokian snows are worth their weight in gold if you can afford 'em.
For a climate where it snows only a handful of times per year consider the all-weather Nokian WR.
The guys at work recommend the Kumho tires for higher performance summer tires. Rumors flew that folks autocross on them and do road courses at Watkins Glen.
