Hi Keith!
I want to try a known good ECU to eliminate it as a suspect. The car runs like a champ: no smoke, no hesitation, 24mpg city. But the idle hunts. Actually when cold it's steady 1200. When warm it starts increasing idle speed slowly to 1800 then drops back to 1500. Lately the interval has become 1800-2000, and the oscillations are more rapid. No check engine light.
I changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Replaced the vac hoses. (in fact I removed all the hoses and plugged all of the vac inputs into the manifold with no effect) Then I checked the AMM: wire is glowing fine. Checked the AIC: pulled it, cleaned it then checked for the correct resistance and the connector voltage. Also checked the Thermo sensor for correct resistance at different temps and it's fine, so the only thing I haven't done is go after the ECU.
The ECU does not make any noise, so I'm not totally eliminating that. I'll be trying a known good 2-wire AIC as well.
