You can fill the cracks with structural uretane. The stuff they use to set windshields. NAPA has it in caulking tubes or trowelable cans. Mask off the area about 1/64" around the crack and then fill it in. Structural urethane sticks like you wouldn't believe, doesn't shrink, forms as hard as a tire and isn't too glossy like silicone. It stays flexible unlike epoxy fillers. I've used it for filling minor dash cracks, repairing dried-out weatherstripping, stiffining motor mounts etc. Wear hand protection. There is no solvent for structural urethane. If you get it on your hands, it has to wear off over time.
