Im in the middle of this job also - see my other posts - The fat nut and wire bucket handle technique described in the bbs works!! Search RayF for the specifics - I used vice grips on one of the points where the pressure plate metal straps meet the cover to release additional pressure and to make the extraction easier - a little - It gave me a handle with which to pull the clutch out to the left (passenger side) i removed the assembly to the passenger side - to avoid the starter - I loosened the slave and slid a flat drywall tool in between the trans and the bottom of the slave to keep it from re-seating and then, using a prybar and screwdrivers, inched the clutch and slave across the flywheel face. In my case one of the positioning pegs came out in the clutch instead of staying in the flywheel but once you clear two of the pegs the wiggle across is easier. I pulled my radiator for more working room (doing motor mount r&r also)

Now, of course I havent checked where this seal is that you refer to is, but I bought one also - my original thought was that it is in the back of the trans (front of car) behind the round plate through which you can extract the clutch shaft - this round plate is held on by a metal spring l-shaped rod, easily pryed off with a screwdriver.

I hope this helps - I'm headed back out to the driveway and into the SUn!!!!!!
