Sometimes they fail by having the seat inside the FPR erode (moisture from sitting all winter, f'r example.) There have been lots of instances where replacing an FPR relieved the conditions you're experiencing.
Are you actually driving it or just letting it idle?
If you're driving it and you get the over-rich condition accompanied by bucking, check the rubber boots that connect the turbo-to-intercooler and intercooler-to-throttle-body ducts. Hose clamps might be loose or a boot might have been nibbled.
It's also possible that the AMM is going bad or there's a rodent nest in the air filter housing.
