Yes, they melt the connectors. I had them in my 85 900 for a while. THey end up melting the female 3 prong plugs. Not hard to fix, but a nusance. I switched back to the normal sealed beam headlights because my hoppy headlight aimer couldn't aim the euro headlights since they didn't have the three dimples.
The lighting isn't a whole lot better with the higher watt bulbs. You're better off adding fog lights or driving lights.
