The hoses attached to that whitish thing should be attached to the fitting where the "loop is - IF one goes to the vacuum canister behind the right wheel well and the other goes to the turbo gauge. The hose that appears to go to the check valve and valve cover fitting should be exchanged with the hose that appears to go up to the ignition advance. From your other photo with the plugged nipple - that is for an EGR system of hoses that appears to have been disconnected, leave it alone. If so one of the connections on the triple connect on the throttle body will have to be plugged. If you don't have a plug - cut a piece of hose about 1/2" long plug one end with quick drying epoxy cement - wait until its dry - then slip the other end over the nipple you want to plug - voila.
