@!#$@ CCV hose, intake manifold... Posted by michael [Email] (#1365) [Profile/Gallery] (more from michael) on Thu, 28 Jul 2005 12:30:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
while screwing about with the car, noticed CCV hose very brittle, and it broke off. no problem, just get another. go to replace, and notice that it is apparently integral with a coolant hose, both of which run to turbo piping. wtf? couldn't really get at it; looked like the intake mani needs to come off which i also couldn't do (do you need to remove a/c compressor? how do you get that little bracket running to the clutch cover off?). ended up unplugging the nipple from the intake piping, plugging the pipe, and letting the CCV vent to the engine compartment. this seems like WAY too much trouble to change an air line. i can't think of any conceivable reason to engineer something like this, and i'm sure that 'special' hose is like a $100 dealer only affair. can someone clue me in?
