OK so I went to a junk yard today to get a fuel pump assembly so I can order a new pump and slip it in whatever pump it maybe. And then just swap out the assembly in my ride because my pump is making noise.
Anywho, I have done a couple saab pumps before, one on a 92 which is both my car and the donors. So I undo the gas fitting with ease I notice some lubricant on the ends. ok nice. I get the pump out. I have seen pumps before I notice they turn yellowish and can show age in the gas. This one is white as a ghost. This one also has this blue wire going to some vdo circuit board mounted on the pump. Something I have never seen before. It also appears that there was a yellow wire that is now cut and only 3 wires come out of the top assembly. two to the pump and 1 to the vdo board.
Lastly there is a date sort of stamped on top of the pump 09 06 1999. What are these other wires? I assume I got a new assembly for $20. But I still dont know I want to replace the pump if it is this new. But the numbers on the walboro pump dont match up to the eeuroparts site. I dont know I need the 6 barb or 8 barb. The numbers on my pump are:
4021358
AOS006
What kind of replacment pump do I get? Should I even bother? What is up with my assembly?
Thanks
