Project finished, car is back! (questions too) Posted by Camm [Email] (#191) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Camm) on Tue, 30 Aug 2005 20:00:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I finally got my 83 900T put all back together this morning and was able to get it running - this after dismantling it over the new year's weekend to rebuild the turbo and put a new head, new motor mounts and ALL new suspension bushings on it. After checking the cam timing for the umpteenth time and putting even more assembly lube on the lobes, I put the battery in and she fired up on the second crank. Whatta great feeling (and a great sound - 8V Turbo w/a straight 3" pipe cat back). Anyways, I was running it this afternoon and I noticed that the car got REAL hot real quick - up to the H on the thermostat in <10 minutes. I replaced the t-stat and waterpump, and the cooling fan cycled on and off like it was supposed to. What gives? Also, I cannot decipher the wiring guide in my Bentley book to determine which wires go on which slots on: the throttle opening switch, WOT switch (both on throttle body) and the little doohickey that hangs off the hose that is part of the warm up regulation assembly. Any direct info, or help reading the wiring map in the Bentley would be great.
