I bought a new pedal. It was only like $30-something from Eeuroparts.com
It makes a big difference. Before, there was a lot of play before the clutch worked, sort of like when a clutch is almost expired. Now, it's a smooth firm clutch activation. Should be good for another 200,000 miles, but the car body won't last that long.
