Other than vacuum leaks, it would be a good idea to take a look at ground connections. ... at the battery obviously, sometimes a loose ground at the battery can cause intermittent problems. Also, there are ground locations at various points on the engine & body. I had a problem a few years ago when my '86 was running fine and all of a sudden went dead. Had it towed to a dealer and the mechanic found a bad ground connection in the fender well near the APC box. He took off the ground , cleaned the area well and reconnected the ground....it started and ran fine after that.
