Especially if you are willing to do some basic work yourself. Parts for the pre-94 900 are surprisingly inexpensive; as said above, the site sponsors are such for all the right reasons - they provide good customer service and good prices. If you choose to never lift a wrench, the older Saabs are still not particularly pricey to fix; although they are engineered and constructed a little differently than other marques, they are frequently easier (compared to a contemporary model Audi or VW) to work on, and *very* simple compared to most modern cars. The fact that these cars will drag themselves around even when half dead sometimes makes that initial job of bringing it back to full health seem more daunting than it really is. Moral of the story: find an independant mechanic that is Saab familiar and Saab friendly, dont believe it when some yahoo says that you need to pay $200 to have some dinky part fixed, because it is a Saab.
Good luck
