Belts are good. I checked the connections and they look solid and good, for my first thought was a resistance problem. I just feel if a connection was going, it wouldn't gradually increase the rpms needed to get the light back off. I have to drive in 3rd gear on a 55mph road to keep it working right now. Considering I've had the car for over 6 years and god knows how old the alternator is, (it looks original) I'm inclined to believe that's the culprit. The voltage regulator is a thought I've had, too though. Where is that located, for in all my British cars it was part of the alternator on the back.
