#1. Am an amatuer, hopefully some audiophile will chime in.
Since I don't know, I would ask local audio shop what guage to run for your setup. It's larger than you think. As for route, it can run under carpet or door sill forward under knee bolster/dash, where if you feel around there are a couple grommet-ed holes up there for the car's main wire looms. Ideally, the power should run on the opposite side as the amp outputs to avoid interference. Often you can get this cable kitted with battery hardware and fuse box sold together. As for grounding, mine's under the rear seat near the seat latch (floor), big old cable and screw. re: switched power lead... I can't remember. I though my headunit had it's own amp switch on lead, since my deck will lower the antennae when radio off, CD on, you see. You'll have to check yours.
