Try cleaning it up with a small wire brush first. This wire is prone to corrosion. Have a friend jiggle it while you've got the key on two clicks and see if your light comes back on steadily or not at all or intermittently. If it's still intermittent, replace the connector. If it's not on at all, check that the bulb is good and securely connected to the instrument shell. If it still doesn't light up, your battery is probably going dead because of a worn or faulty alternator brush/regulator.
