Front end vibration - control arm bushings?

Sorry I don't have much DIY cred, I've got no workspace.
I had my car at the shop this week to have the front brakes done. They mentioned that the control arm bushings are worn.
That interested me because I visit family about 300 miles away every other month or so. The last two times I've gone, I noticed the front end would start to make a vibrating noise, then I'd feel the vibration, and occassionally it would outright shake the car.
But this would only occur after I'd been driving the car for about an hour. It would only do it above 60mph and only when I had my foot on the gas (not necessarily accelerating though, just anytime I wasn't coasting).
It was also curious that I would feel it more when I went over a dip and the car would hit the spot where it would compress down, and it would be silent and vibration free for that brief moment when the car would float back up after coming off the dip.
I know at first read this probably sounds like an inner driver problem, but the right inner driver was replaced about 50K ago, and from what I know the left hardly ever goes out.
When driving on the city streets day to day, or under 60 on the interstate, or when driving at high speed on the interstate for less than an hour... it doesn't vibrate or make any noise.
Could these symptoms be caused by the worn control arm bushings? And if so, is it going to cost me a fortune to have these replaced? I've read that the engine needs to be removed.
Thanks.
