i recently was searching to board to see if anyone had done this before and i couldnt find any info on it besides people stating that it isnt worth it.
i have a 90 900S with an 89 turbo wiring harness and mildly modded engine. my wiring harness didnt support ABS so if i didnt put in manual brakes then my car would stay nearly unstoppable. i tear out my useless ABS system and try to bolt up the brake booster. i failed. after alot of studying i realized that the ABs brake pedal wouldnt support the brake booster. i swap the pedals out and put the brake booster to the fire wall. it fit right in. ran a few lines and now i have manual brakes. there are a few issues with possible problems i might have down the road. both my rear brakes and 1 of my front brakes share the same brake line so if anything happens to it i will lose 3 out of 4 brakes. thats a pretty good reason to pay attention for any leaks in the brake lines. other then that the system is working fine.
my engine is still getting tuned up and all so its haveing some issues. it runs pretty rough and it dies whenever i try to rev past 2000 RPMS or so. i havent set my timing yet so im not sure if thats the problem. i am not sure if the problem is in the timing or if i have a bad sensor some where. i do believe there are a few vaccumm leaks because i have the whole dash apart. this car is being built from the ground up so i want everything to be right. it is being converted from a 90 900S to a 85 SPG with 86 SPG gray leather interior and 88+ SPG rims.
thanks
JP
