did you stick to the OEM tire size? My summer tires (on 16" wheels) are 205 and they track every groove and are more difficult to turn at low speeds. Also, did you have the car aligned? Your old tires may have worn in such a way that you didn't notice misalignment but the new tread makes it evident again.
