If it's a sudden, jerky cutting out, that sounds more like ignition & not fuel supply.
How's your distributor cap & rotor? Check that the body of the distributor is aligned properly. There should be a mark or line at the base which lines up with the seam between the head & the valve cover.
Your spark timing is controlled by a sensor down at the crank pulley. But the distributor can still spin, just like you would to change timing on an older engine. Since the actual timing isn't controlled by spinning the distributor, you can have troubles if the distributor is rotated out of it's proper position.
