Rebuilding an 8V motor

How hard is it to rebuild an 8V turbo engine? I am a experieced do-it-yourself mechanic, I've been maintaining my own cars all my life including 10 years of Saab ownership. I've read the manual, the timing chain sounds a little tricky, other than that it seems straight forward.
Has any one done this? What are the sticky bits?
Thanks!
