I don't know the answer, but it's not too hard to remove the sender & check it with an ohm-meter.
Remove the plywood trunk floor. There's 2 round disks, the smaller one farther forward is the fuel sender. Pop that off & you'll see the sender mounted in the fuel tank.
Clean around there so you don't drop crud into the tank.
Unscrew the ring, try not to let the sender itself twist. As you pull the sender out, give it enought time let the fuel drain out.
There's a float inside, you can tip it upside down & right side up to make the float move as you measure resistance.
