It sounds like you've experienced high failure rates? What part of the country are you in? Curious if weather is causing accelerated failures? Also, do you part inside or outside overnight? It has been my experience that parking in a garage overnight, and in the garage during the day when at home, can easily multiply the logevity of a Saab by 2x or even 3x or more.
I just sold a 1987 900 base model we got from chicago (rust central) that I put west coast used calipers (solid rotors on base model) from 1 1986 on three years ago. works fine, still.
Also have two 1987's both San Diego cars. A 900S with 350K miles and the *original calipers since new*. We purchased at Continental New. The other bought from orignal owner, a 900T vert, that purchased from Rancho Saab in San Diego and my buddy did the original PDI on it... It currently has about 152k on it. Each of these has ventalated rotors front and solid rear. I have replace rotors on the S, and several pads too, both front and rear. Think I've done pads and rear hubs on the vert.
And then there are the 9K's but that's for the other board.
