Can Red APC box be tweaked higher than specs?

I went ahead and installed the 2 resistors into my APC box and turned the pots to spec according to what the Red Box version has. The car is max boosting consistently up to 18psi, hitting into 1/4 of the red zone. I also have the 3.0 FPR installed.
Can this be adjusted even higher or am I asking for trouble? Should I go ahead and install a larger exhaust and/or do the distributor adjustment (affecting timing) to gain a little more oomph? I guess I'm just used to the awesome/scary power of my 9K (2.3 engine, Stage 3), and am comparing the two vehicles.
