Need help sourcing a rebuilt (complete) SHORT BLOCK Posted by SaabDude [Email] (#370) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SaabDude) on Tue, 14 Nov 2006 09:25:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello All! Let me start out by stating that I'm a member of both SCNA & VSCNA.. so I DO plan to check with their advertisers, along with site sponsors....
I just wanted to see if anyone had a quick link or recently sourced a rebuilt short block, that could help me.
My car is an '87 900T Convert (just barely over 100K miles) and it "died" on me the other day.
SYMPTOMS: Low oil pressure light on, a BAD mechanical knocking in the lower part of the engine. I towed the car to my indy mechanic in Corpus Christi, and their diagnosis was: Looking thru the flywheel inspection cover, there was the slightest noticable movement. They're thinking main bearings / crankshaft issues.
I'm going to fix the car regardless (it's quite nice & I rcvd about 6 yrs worth of receipts when I bought it a year ago), just looking for options, ie machine work on current block, or replacing the lower end with a "rebuilt, complete" "short block"!
Please help!
Thank you very much!!
