Actually, I had the same problem. So I replaced the clutch b/c it was fried and then replaced the clutch slave at the same time along w/ the throwout while I was in there. It worked great for five miles till the clutch master spring a leak. If you ever do the clutch and the slave, do the clutch master as well to save yourself a big pain in the ass. Now that the master was replaced, car ran perfect till I found out I had a defective throwout bearing after twenty more miles. Anyway, long story short, they should have just used the old tried and true cable method with the self adjuster like they use in the newer VW golf's. It would have saved me about ten hours of time and about$500 in parts. The point I am trying to make is that until you rip it apart, it could be anything and be prepared to spend the time and money b/c I am totally positive this will bite you in the ass. Just my opinion. Matt
