The headliner shell factory opening has molded tapered edges that would be impossible to duplicate.The molded taper allows the shell to butt up to the roof opening. You could cut the shell opening and use the fabric to taper up the roof but I believe you would put stress on the fabric it isn't designed to handle.Might work for a short while. The sunroof version also has dropped area over the back seat to accommodate the sunroof housing.I think that the lack of the dropped section in the non sunroof shell would be totally problematic.
