Okay after all the good advice I went out and the car started okay. It took a second, but cracked. Sounded normal - it has been 20 deg so a cold engine warming up. I let it run for a minute and then shut it off and then tried to start again. It sounds like when you turn the key and leave it burning the starter, but the key is not tight or sticky. I tried a couple of times with no luck.
The battery looks good and clean and there is still pleanty of juice even after sitting for a few days in cold weather. Fuel pump? Fuses look good too.
