I'm still straddling the fence on the "keep it original" v. "be happy". As much as it is a "Commemorative" is it recognized outside these walls as such? Not really, imho. I *am* happy to hear of the upward value swing of the C900 as I continue to love the car's lines year-after-year.
I agree with you about the newer spoiler - I guess if it is to be there it makes sense to coninue it around as it does on later years, but that's faint praise at best. With the dark colors, like your blue, it does not jump out at you and does provide continuity - and a Python reference is always a worthwhile digression.
Re: the side exterior narrow belt line trim, if I'm thinking of the same pcs, I left them off my red '86 3dr (another factory-part home brew) and am glad I did. Definitely cleaner. I had a predecessor '86 (rip- deer acc'd) that I 80% stripped before a repaint and proceeded to re-install all the badging and trim - incl that narrow pc. As it went back on, I noticed the clean lines of the "bare" car were becoming masked as I added the trim and badges. Consequently, I left it *all* off my current '86.
Hope this helps.
