to post the follow up of my bat. light,.. but before i do i want to offer my thanks to all that posted with ideas, with out them i dont think or i know i would not have a nice running 900 at the moment.
thank-you all
i was on the way to the auto part store to have them test my new/used alternator, dreading the fact of uninstalling my old one and installing the one i recovered from the grave.
i handed my new/used golden alt. to the gear guy and he placed it on the tester however when all said and done the alt. failed
i saw it the tested buzzed loudly with big bold letters FAIL FAIL FAIL
the hopes on hitting the tonight went crashing into a brick wall that had fail on it, or you know what i mean. i was stuck like chuck (woodchuck stuck in the log of wood because the hole it widdled was to small)
so i asked the gear guy if there was a alt. in-stock, the answer came back the nearest one was 40 miles away 160 with a 60 core.
at that moment i wanted to just go buy a bicycle
any-how i took my busted up alt. and walked to the car.
sat there for a moment and when i looked at the busted up alt, i saw the volt regulator with only two screws plugged in the back of the alt.
i thought why not rip into it, after pulling the reg. the prongs or sticks, what ever there called looked as if it was new, way over 5mm.
i thought hmmm how bout that, i looked at my motor and dug in, might i add the back reg. bolt closest to the oil filter was a pain, but in the end i got it, pulled the volt reg. out of the alt and can you just guess what it looked like,
ill describe it the best i can, one prong was widdled down to a nub
wasnt no 5mm it was paper thin and had what looked like rust on the top of the prong where it would meet the alt. the 2ed prong was just under a key width after seeing this, i smiled from ear to ear,
after installing the new/used graveyard volt reg. and put the motor back together i started it up,
(( battery light gone ))
a sie of relief came over me, all i can think of is (it is done)
now i have to travel to the caveman days on the flip side of the moon, until next time, Saab on
