you look to see if the fans are running or turning on Posted by vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vvack0matic) on Fri, 1 Jun 2007 17:47:21 In Reply to: Still Overheating, Sir Charles, Thu, 31 May 2007 19:35:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
when they should,
one fan down can put the heat right at 3/4ths
here try something. lay down some carpet on your driveway, or anything soft to lay on.
then have the car running (idling)
lay in front of the car with your head on the ground in front(middle) of the bumper, then just wait for a bit.

no your not waiting for the car to slip into gear

while laying there you will hear the fans (both) turn on to cool the car down. they should turn on in 2 minutes of waiting, give or take a few minutes, while waiting there poke you head under the bumper,
if you look off to your right (laying on your back) you will see the wire for the right fan and you will see the plug for the fan where it runs into the cars motor harness,
if you look off to your left you will see the wires for the left fan and just the same as the right one (the plug) where it plugs into the cars harness,
go on and wait for the fans to turn on...
.
.
when they do, its like some sort of preordained...... (thing)
as they are running go on and grab hold of the left fans wire and give it a shake,
not a nice little sway. im talking about a shake, (violently)
looking to see if the fan turns off for a moment then turns back on.
do the same to the right fan, if they do not turn off then
its just one more accomplishment to add to your check list.
(if you find a fan or both fans turn off for a moment then that plug needs to be cleaned or replaced all together.)
