Matt, do you mean the bolt that goes down into the the trans case? Make sure you have the correct length bolt. That bolt is longer that the other bolts to accommodate the thickness of the bracket. It might be that a PO used a short bolt and just stripped the upper threads. I'd measure the hole depth with a something like a nail including the thickness of the bracket. You want a bolt that stops just short of the bottom so that you engage the entire threaded column.
